After three straight years, the Penguins are back in the playoffs, taking on the hated Philadelphia Flyers.
Pittsburgh is once again abuzz with Stanley Cup playoff hockey and PPG Paints Arena will be rocking for Games 1 and 2 (dates still unannounced).
But, while playoff season is back in Pittsburgh is doesn’t mean the big screen outside the arena is coming back… at least not yet.
The Penguins tells KDKA Radio the big screen will not be out for any Round One games, which is consistent with previous years in the postseason.
“If we advance to Round Two we would re-visit,” said Penguins Senior Director of Communications, Evan Schall.
Projections at the beginning of the season had the Penguins toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference, but Sidney Crosby and the team, along with first-year coach had an amazing regular season, finishing second in the Metropolitan Division, securing home ice advantage through at least Round One.
