Penguins deal goalie Jarry and forward Poulin to Edmonton

The Penguins have traded goaltender Tristan Jarry and forward Samuel Poulin to Edmonton in exchange for goalie Stuart Skinner, defenseman Brett Kulak and the Oilers 2029 second-round draft pick.

The Penguins made the trade official just after 10 a.m. Friday.

The 27-year-old Skinner and 31-year-old Kulak are both singed through the end of this season. Skinner is making $2.6 million and Kulak, $2.75 million.

Skinner is 11-8-4 this season with a 2.83 goals-against average and has a career record of 109-62-18, all with Edmonton.

He’s 26-22 in the playoffs.

Kulak has two assists over 31 games this season. Last season, he had seven goals and 18 assists over 82 games.

Both Kulak and Skinner have appeared in the Stanley Cup Final the past two seasons with the Oilers.

With the trade, the Penguins dump Jarry’s large $26.87 million/5-year contract and yearly $5.37 million salary.

Jarry is under contract through the 2028 season.
