PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) No NHL players or personnel will be in Beijing for the 2022 Winter Olympics, but that doesn’t mean there can be representation from the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Former defenseman David Warsofsky has been rumored to be invited to play with Team USA in China.
While Warsofsky’s position on the team is only a rumor at the moment, Team USA did announce a new coaching staff which features a current Penguins development leader.
Scott Young, from Clinton, Mass., is in his fifth year as the Penguins Director of Player Development and has been named an assistant coach for Team USA.
Young started with the Penguins in 2017 and was previously a part of the coaching staff for Team USA in 2018.
Also a former player, Young played in 1,181 career NHL games and made three Olympic teams.
Young played in 43 games with the Penguins in 1990-91 and played in 17 postseason games that year on the road to the franchise’s first Stanley Cup.
A few years later, in 1995-96, Young played a role in bringing the Colorado Avalanche their first Cup.
Over the years, Young has developed himself into a top tier hockey player and has the rap sheet of success to back it up.
Young was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017.
