
The Pittsburgh Penguins will retire Jaromir Jagr’s Number 68 next year.
The team announced Friday that the two-time Stanley Cup Champion’s number will join Mario Lemieux’s #66 and Michel Briere’s #21 on February 18 when the Penguins play the Los Angeles Kings.
All fans in attendance that night will receive a replica Jagr retirement banner.
A Jagr bobblehead will be given away on March 14 against the Sharks.
Jagr spent the first 11 of his 24 seasons in the NHL with Pittsburgh with 439 goals and 640 assists over 806 regular season games with the Penguins.
He’s fourth in Penguins history for goals scored, assists and points and second in game-winning goals
He was the scoring leader in 1995, 98, 99, 00 and 01, is a five-time Art Ross Trophy winner, won the Hart Trophy, the NHL’s most valuable player in 1999 and countless other accolades.
Jagr is the current owner, and sometimes player, for his hometown Klando hockey team in Czech Republic.
The 51-year-old was taken 5th overall by the Penguins in the 1990 draft.
