The Mississauga, Ontario native is a left-hand shot and maybe not evident by his size, Mbuyi is relentless on the forecheck playing an aggressive style. Last season for Owen Sound in the Ontario Hockey League he had 75 points (32 goals) after 52 points (29 goals) the year prior. Mbuyi did play for Team Canada’s U18 team in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup with an assist and six penalty minutes in four games.
