PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Really in need of all positions in this year's NHL Draft, the Pens used their second pick in the draft, 118th overall in the fourth round, to select a goalie.
Russian Sergey Murashov is ranked the seventh best European goaltender prospect by NHL Central Scouting and ranked 172nd overall by Draft Prospects Hockey.
He catches with the right-hand and stands 6' weighing 168 pounds. Murashov played in the Russian MHL junior league-playing eight games in 2020-21 with a 2.12 goals against average and .909 save percentage. This past season he played in 41 games, winning 21 over them with a .927 save percentage and 2.49 goals against average.
Pens have picks in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds to finish out the NHL Draft Friday.
