The Penguins have recalled defenseman P.O. Joseph and is on the ice for Pittsburgh in Florida.
To make room on the roster, Anthony Angello has been sent to the Wilkes/Barres Scranton Penguins.
Defensive Mike Matheson, who went through morning skate on Tuesday was scratched after suffering a lower-back injury.
Matheson was no on the ice for practice on Wednesday and was considered day-to-day as of Tuesday.
Joseph played in three preseason games for the Penguins and in 16 games last season.
He had one goal and four assists last season after making his NHL debut on January 22 against the New York Rangers.
The 22-year-old Laval, Quebec native was acquired in a deal with the Arizona Coyotes in June 2019 as part of the Phil Kessel deal.
