The Penguins are sending their backup goaltender to the west coast in exchange for a draft pick.
Alex Nedeljkovic is heading to San Jose in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft.
With the trade, the Penguins have announced they now have 28 draft picks over the next three years.
Another sign the Pens are leaning more into a rebuild?
The 29-year-old Nedeljkovic, from Parma, Ohio went 14-15 last season with a save percentage of .894.
The Penguins also re-signed forwards Philip Tomasino and Connor Dewar on the first day of NHL free agency.
Both one-year deals Tomasino will make $1.75 million and Dewar, $1.1 million.
