PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Three Penguins out of COVID-19 protocol and available for the game Wednesday night hosting St. Louis. It includes the starting goalie.
Third among regular starters in the NHL with a 1.93 goals against average, Tristan Jarry returned to practice on Tuesday in Cranberry.
"It's great," said Pens head coach Mike Sullivan. "Tristan has been one of our best players this year. He provides consistent saves for us game-in and game-out that's given this team a chance to win. That's just what he's done. To get him back into the mix is great news for our team."
Also back at practice Tuesday, forwards Kasperi Kapanen and Teddy Blueger. All could play against the Blues.
"I haven't had any symptoms," Blueger said. "I feel pretty good. It's a little tougher missing during Christmas break. It compounds the time that I missed out on skating."
Jeff Carter is feeling better after a second stint in COVID-19 protocols and is now day-to-day. Forward Drew O'Connor did test positive Tuesday morning.
There was no update to Evgeni Malkin's status for Wednesday, but he worked as the second of the second line with the red-hot Evan Rodrigues and Kapanen. Malkin worked on the second power-play unit.
