PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – With Evgeni Malkin back for what appears to be a final season in 2026-27, there are some milestones within his reach.




Those milestones are not likely as much in the Pens record book. He is entrenched in most of the scoring categories behind Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby. Although he does sit in second place in overtime goals.

There are several NHL big names he could pass next season.

Malkin is 23rd with 1,407

If Malkin has a season close to last year, he could move into 17th place all-time

Wayne Gretzky is in sight with game-winning goals, Malkin has 89 and Gretzky and Mark Recchi have 91. Former teammate Jeff Carter has 92 and Sergei Fedorov has 93.

Multi-point games, Malkin is 27th with 376. Jari Kurri has 385 and 22nd place. Joe Thornton has 391 in 21st place preceded by Trottier (392) and Hawerchuk (393). Recchi is 16th with 399.

With a fourth Stanley Cup championship, Malkin would join Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay, Paul Coffey and others.
