PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The NHLPA conducted their annual players' poll and the results are in.
Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was voted by his peers as a leader in multiple categories, and top three in another.
On 29.5% of the ballots, Crosby was selected as the league's most complete player.
154 of the 522 players polled said Crosby plays the best 200-foot game in hockey; His offensive ability is obvious just by looking at the numbers, but his defensive game often goes unnoticed.
In recent seasons Crosby has added an extra level to his game by becoming a better defensive player and shutting down opposing offenses.
Crosby hasn't been finishing in the final nominees but has received an increased number of Selke Trophy votes over the past five seasons.
The second category led votes in is the NHL's best role model; He received 42.7% of the vote.
Boston Bruins' Patrice Bergeron finished in second place with only 9.8% of the vote.
The other category Crosby finished within the top three was "If you need one win, who is the player you want on your team?" where he finished second.
