
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pirates invited to six Major League Spring Training as basically tryouts for non-roster players, five of them are pitchers.

RHP Tyler Chatwood-used exclusively as a reliever with Toronto and the Giants last year he went 1-3 with a 5.63 ERA striking out 38 in 32 innings with 21 walks, four hit batters and only two home runs allowed. The 33-year-old pitched in 229 career MLB games, 143 as a starter.
LHP Daniel Zamora-the 29-year-old has pitched in 37 career MLB games with no starts, 3-1, 4.50 ERA striking out 27, nine walks in 22 innings with a .256 average against.
He’s 6’3) and last year in AAA pitched 63 innings allowing five home runs with a 3.86 ERA in 51 appearances with 71 strikeouts to 27 walks.
LHP Rob Zastryzny-another 6’3” lefty who was a second-round pick of the Cubs in 2013 pitching in 24 MLB games, 38.2 innings, 34 strikeouts, 17 walks, 1.47 WHIP, 4.66 ERA. The 30-year-old had a 3.42 ERA striking out 68 and walking 20 in 55.1 innings. The WHIP of 1.37 and six home runs allowed.
LHP Angel Perdomo-the 28-year-old is 6’8”, 265 with an 8.24 ERA in 22 career MLB games. He pitched in 26 games in AAA starting two with a 1.85 ERA in 34 innings. He struck out 56 and walked 18. His career in the minor struck out 689 in 552.2 innings.
RHP Nathan Webb-the youngest of the group at 25, the 6’2”, 215-pound lefty struggled in 2022 going 2-3 with a 9.99 ERA in 33 innings allowing 27 walks and struck out 39. In 268 career minor league innings, Webb has walked 138.
C Tyler Heineman-the 31-year-old played in 52 games with the Pirates last year hitting .211 with a .279 OBP with six doubles and eight RBI. The right-handed hitter is a career .214 hitter in the majors with one home run.
