The Pirates are officially in rebuild mode. Talking to the Fan Morning Show last month, General Manager Ben Cherington even said he was comfortable with Colin and Chris using the word "rebuild" a word that was not used by the previous regime.
Cherington has stayed true to his word when he was hired, stock the Pirates' system with young talent, something that was severely lacking when he took over.
While the future looks brighter for these young Bucs, there will likely be some growing pains in 2021.
Baseball Prospectus has released its projected wins and losses for 2021 and the Bucs are currently looking at 100 loss season.
Prospectus' PECOTA (Player Empirical Comparison and Optimization Test Algorithm) has Pittsburgh currently sitting at 61.1 wins, 100.9 losses.
Only the Colorado Rockies have a worse outlook with 60.3 wins and 101.7 losses.
The National League Central forecast shows the Milwaukee Brewers with the most wins in the division with 88 followed by the Chicago Cubs with 85.
