PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The Pittsburgh Pirates are heading into Wednesday nights' game a win away from a sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Buccos will begin the matchup with RHP Bryse Wilson on the mound to start after being reinstated from the IL.
To make room for Wilson, JT Brubaker will be placed on the 10-day IL after he jammed the thumb on his throwing hand.
According the Pirates manager Derek Shelton, Brubaker injured his thumb during his first at bat last game and it decreased the effectiveness of his slider.
Wilson was acquired by the Pirates in the trade for Richard Rodriguez, and had been out since Aug. 15th with arm fatigue.
