FanGraphs Baseball, known for their advanced baseball analysis and stats has released the odds on who they think has the best chance to make the post season in 2021 and as expected, it's not looking great for the Pirates.
But don't tell the Pirates Twitter account that.
Reacting to the 0.4 percent odds, the Bucs posted a meme of SpongeBob SquarePants looking at the prediction and then burning it.
FanGraphs' postseason odds have the Pirates with the third worst chance with the Colorado Rockies at 0.1 percent and the Baltimore Orioles with absolutely no chance at 0.0 percent.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Pirates manager Derek Shelton telling reports he is looking forward to the season.
"We're prepared to win every night," Shelton said. "We are playing every night and playing to win. Making decisions that way."
