Pirates pitcher J.T. Brubaker’s parents were understandably excited after their son got his first ever hit during his first Major League at bat on Monday night against the Cincinnati Red, but his dad took the celebration just a little too far.

J.T.’s father, Frank, who pitched in the Yankees farm system for two seasons in 1989 and 1990, was sitting in his seat while his wife was standing and cheering.

J.T.’s dad got so excited after the hit, he gave his wife a swift hand to her bottom (a common practice with athletes when congratulating another player), prompting her to give him the business.

She quickly puts her hands on her bottom, while she appears to sternly remind her husband that his move was not okay. While she was wearing a mask, you can tell she was not happy about it.

Dad appeared apologetic, trying to calm her down with a much gentler touch to the rear end.

J.T. had a decent debut on the pitching mound as well, going four innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run with 6 strikeouts and 4 walks.
