PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The Pittsburgh Pirates have made a couple of roster moves ahead of their game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Infielder Kevin Newman was reinstated by the Pirates off of a 60-day injured list; to make room for Newman, the Pirates optioned outfielder Bligh Madris to Triple-A.
During his stint in the MLB, Madris played in 15 games, knocked 14 base hits, and held a .259 average.
Along with those roster moves, the Pirates acquired pitcher Yohan Ramirez from the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for cash considerations.
Ramirez was acquired and optioned to Triple-A.
To make room on the 40-man roster, pitcher Aaron Fletcher was designated for assignment.
