It was revealed during his appearance on Ben Roethlisberger’s podcast “footbahlin” that Andrew McCutchen hits the cover off the ball when the furries are in Pittsburgh.

During a live taping of the Podcast at Cinderlands in Downtown Pittsburgh, Ben’s producer Spence asked McCutchen about how he would tweet “furries” when he would see the people that dress in animal costumes around town.
The furries host their yearly Anthrocon in Pittsburgh and will once again call Pittsburgh home for a weekend this summer.
As pointed out by “Foolish Bailey” on You Tube, McCutchen would be the best hitter in baseball history if the furries were around all the time.
McCutchen has played in 15 games in Pittsburgh while Anthrocon was in town and during that time has a .419 batting average with an on-base of .479 and slugging .742 along with three home runs since 2014.
“So what you’re saying is the Pirates need to have a furry night,” said Roethlisberger.
McCutchen agreed. “I’d promote it, come out to the ballpark!”
It just so happens Anthrocon is coming to Pittsburgh June 29 – July 2 this year and the Pirates are in town for all four games.
One against the Padres and then a three-game series against the team McCutchen played for last year, the Milwaukee Brewers!
Hopefully, we’ll see that furry average go even higher this year.
