The Pirates added another arm on Wednesday.
The team announced they acquired right-handed pitcher Brett de Geus from Toronto in exchange for case.
The 27-year-old was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays late last week.
De Geus made 13 appearances for three teams last season (Seattle, Miami and Toronto)
He went 0-2 with a 7.15 ERA last season with seven strikeouts and four walks over 11.1 innings pitched.
De Geus was DFA'ed by the Mariners after four appearances, DFA'ed by the Marlins after seven appearances and DFA'ed by the Blue Jays after two showings.
