Pirates add Michael A. Taylor and Domingo German Friday

93.7 The Fan (PITTSBURGH) - The Pirates add Michael A Taylor and Domingo German to one year contracts on Friday.

Taylor hit .220 for the Minnesota Twins in 2023 with 21 home runs, 51 runs batted in and 13 stolen bases. His career batting average is .239 with 95 home runs and 332 RBIs in 10 seasons. The Pirates will be his fourth team after playing for the Nationals, Royals and Twins.

Taylor now gets added into the mix of outfield options for the Pirates. They have Connor Joe, Josh Palacios and Edward Olivares in the mix for the open outfield spot. Bryan Reynolds and Jack Suwinski are penciled in for the other two outfield positions.

German is coming off a 5-7 2023 season with the New York Yankees in 19 starts. He struck out 114 batters and finished with a 1.08 whip. German threw a perfect game against the Oakland A's June 28, 2023. His contract is a minor league deal with an invitation to MLB camp according to Jon Heyman of the MLB Network. If he makes the team he will make 1.5 million dollars.
