Pirates make moves, set Opening Day roster

The Pirates have finalized their 2022 Opening Day roster and made some moves ahead of this afternoon’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Catcher Andrew Knapp and outfielder Jake Marisnick have been officially added to the roster.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Pirates have placed outfielder Greg Allen on the 60-day injured list with a left hamstring and pitcher Adonis Medina has been designated for assignment.

The Pirates have 14 pitchers on their roster including starters JT Brubaker, Mitch Keller, Bryse Wilson, Zach Thompson and Jose Quintana.

The other pitchers on the roster:

Anthony Banda, Wil Crow, Aaron Fletcher, Heath Hembree, Dillon Peters, Chris Stratton, Duane Underwood Jr. Miguel Yajure and David Bednar.
