The Pirates are changing directions with their starting pitcher for Wednesday evening's game two against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Scheduled starter Bryse Wilson (0-0, 6.35 ERA, six strikeouts) are instead going to start with reliever Dillion Peters.
Peters has been near perfect over 10.1 innings so far this season. He's 3-0 in five games giving up one hit and four walks with zero runs for an ERA of 0.00.
The Pirates have fell behind frequently this season, a big reason for that is due to poor pitching in the first inning.
On Tuesday, starting Pirates pitcher Mitch Keller walked Kolton Wong and then gave up a two-run home run to Willy Adames.
"We have to figure it out, I can't tell you the exact answer, I think the big thing is we can't walk guys early," Manager Derek Shelton said about shutting down teams early in ball games.
The usually solid bullpen also got hit hard on Tuesday giving up eight runs after Keller left the game.
The Pirates will try to get back to .500 and beat the Brewers for the first time this season at PNC Park. First pitch is 6:35 p.m. and can be heard on 93.7 The Fan.
