According to reports, pending a physical, the Pirates are signing left handed pitcher Jarlin Garcia.
Reported by MLB Network's Mark Feinsand that the sides were close on a deal, Post-Gazette's Jason Mackey said he will be signed pending a physical.
Garcia has a 3.74 ERA last season going 1 and 4 in 58 games with 56 strikeouts over 65 innings last year with the San Francisco Giants.
Mackey reports the one-year deal is worth $2.5 million.
Feinsand adds since 2019, Garcia has a 2.89 ERA in 188 appearances since the beginning of the 2019 season.
Garcia began his career in Miami, pitching three years with the Marlins before he was designated for assignment before the 2020 season.
He was claimed off waivers by the Giants and was great for San Francisco in 2020 with a 0.49 ERA over 18.1 innings.
He was non-tendered by the Giants at the end of 2022 and became a free agent.
Over is career, Garcia is 17-15 with a 3.61 ERA over 285 games, starting seven of them.
He has 259 strike out over 322 innings pitched.
