According to reports, the Pirates are making moves in the bullpen, which has struggled the past few weeks.
The Pirates are calling up right-handed pitcher Wilber Dotel and sending RHP Isaac Mattson to Triple-A.
First reported by Pirates reporter Alex Stumpf, Dotel is being called up from Indianapolis.
Mattson has a 4.12 ERA over 21 games this season with 15 strikeouts and 10 walks over 19.2 innings.
Dotel has a 1.35 ERA over 6.2 innings pitched in the MLB this season with four strikeouts and three walks.
In Triple-A, Dotel has an ERA of 5.32 over six appearances (four starts) with 24 strikeouts and nine walks with a record of 3-3.
Mattson is one of the few bullpen arms with options remaining as the Pirates try to correct a pitching staff that has blown over 10 saves so far this season.
The Pirates have lost four in a row.
