PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) –Steelers first-round pick Troy Fautanu said it's been an adjustment already in just voluntary workouts at the NFL level, but he's learning. He's also now official, as he signed his rookie four-year deal on Monday afternoon.

Signing NFL contracts for rookies are formalities because they have no leverage to hold out and their money is slotted, but still now he will start earning a paycheck.

Fautanu said he's been leaning on the older offensive linemen to get up to speed and said it's improved a lot since the first day two weeks ago.

"Just trusting the process," Fautanu said of what he's learned. "Every day is going to get better if you continue to work."

Fautanu has worked both sides at tackle and said he's not going to tell the coaches which side he should play on, rather he will just continue to work and let his play decide.

"I'm comfortable playing left, I've played it my whole life," Fautanu said. "Switching to right, it's getting a little bit easier every day, doing it. It's different than going against air, now I've got guys in front of me. I'm working at it every single day."

It's the second consecutive season that Dan Moore watched as the Steelers drafted a player in the first round that plays his position. Fautanu, much like Broderick Jones said last year, said Moore has been great in providing advice and answering any questions.

"The biggest thing with tackles is snap count," Moore said. "That's the hardest thing to grasp. The defenders (at the NFL level) are so much faster off the ball."

It seems like daily you can see Fautanu is getting it, now he's also getting paid.
