PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It was just perfect, again. The Steelers first-team offense three-for-three turning drives into touchdowns. The two Saturday against the AFC East favorite Bills first team defense.

Second-year tailback Jaylen Warren had the splash play in the first series of the game. After Kenny Pickett found Allen Robinson for 10 yards on a third-and-seven, Warren got a handoff at the 38 yard-line, got great blocks from Dan Moore, Mason Cole, Isaac Seumalo and downfield by Diontae Johnson as he then outran Pro Bowler Jordan Poyer down the sideline for a 62-yard touchdown.

Steelers would benefit from a 54-yard punt return by Calvin Austin on the next possession, Matt Canada aggressive on the first play. Pickett back to pass, intentionally throwing a little behind tight end Pat Freiermuth down the seam and he goes the last couple of yards into the end zone for a touchdown.

The starters would come out after that, Pickett three for four for 43 yards and the TD. The touchdown was Warren’s only carry. George Pickens a first-down reception of eight yards.

Steelers have yet to have an offensive, first-team red zone situation during games this preseason. The starting offensive line from left to right, Moore, Seumalo, Cole, James Daniels Chukwuma Okorafor.

The defense also pitched a shutout, giving up 64 passing yards but not much else. Alex Highsmith had a six-yard tackle for loss as Josh Allen scrambled around, passed the line of scrimmage and then when heading backwards, Highsmith got him.

TJ Watt and Cam Heyward played a couple of series, as did Minkah Fitzpatrick with Damontae Kazee the other starting safety and Chandon Sullivan the slot corner. The linebackers rotated with Cole Holcomb (who would tip a pass later leading to an interception) and Elandon Roberts (caused issues at the line of scrimmage) starting, but Kwon Alexander played. Montravius Adams and DeMarvin Leal (in place of the injured Larry Ogunjobi) started on the line. The starting corners-Patrick Peterson and Levi Wallace.
