Big Ben drops to third best QB in AFC North according to Madden ratings

Ben Roethlisberger, Baker Mayfield

PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The Madden video game franchise has slowly, but surely, been dropping their top rated players by position.

Friday afternoon, they dropped their quarterback ratings and fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers might not like the results

Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been given a 78 overall rating, good for 18th in the NFL.

What makes this sting a little more, 78 is the third lowest rating in the AFC North just above Joe Burrow (77).

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield was given an 84 overall for 11th place; Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson landed 5th place at 90 overall.

A 78 overall rating is on par with high profile rookie QB Trevor Lawrence.

An unproven, yet to play in the NFL quarterback was given the same rating as a 17-year veteran.

Matt Ryan (85), David Carr (81), and Justin Herbert (80) have both been given a higher rating than Roethlisberger as well.

For those wondering, the top three QBs in Madden 22: Patrick Mahomes (99), Tom Brady (97), Aaron Rodgers (96).

Is this a sing of Big Ben's decline? Are the rest of the AFC North's quarterbacks that good? Do we care about video game ratings? Should we care about video game ratings? Are you still going to play the game?
