PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It was the insult injury added to the end of the loss to the Colts, defensive captain Cam Heyward going into concussion protocol. On Thursday, Heyward was cleared by an independent neurological consultant.
Heyward is now out of protocol and after a full practice on Wednesday seems ready to play against the Bengals Saturday afternoon. The 34-year-old has 30 tackles on the season and a pair of sacks.
Several question marks remain for the Cincinnati game including quarterback Kenny Pickett.
