Cam Heyward is NOT retiring, annoyed with media

Steelers Captain Cam Heyward is not retiring and will play for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I love football, I love playing football," said Heyward on his "Not Just Football" podcast. "I'm not retiring . . . I would like to get my body healthy. Dude, I just played an entire season on one freaking leg where I could barley run, or half the season."

Heyward was asked right after the loss to Buffalo on Monday if he was retiring. He said he needed to get healthy.

Heyward said the media can ask whatever they want but he finds it "annoying" that he keeps having to answer the same question over and over again.

"Why would I want to answer a question right after a game? That wouldn't be smart of me to jump to any conclusion," said Heyward. "I like to look and see where my body's at look and see what I can do, but you know, it's annoying . . . to be asked the same damn question time after time."

He was also asked about his future in the Steelers locker room the next day.

"I'm like, bro, it wasn't ever 24 hours," said Heyward.

It also bothered Heyward when people were speculating when Heyward would return from his groin injury earlier this season.

Heyward said he feels for Head Coach Mike Tomlin dealing with the same type of questions.

"It just feels like there's a lot of jumping to conclusions . . . it's not fair to the player or person," said Heyward.
