The Steelers were playing so bad at the time, you might have missed it or already turned the game off, but something interesting was said during Sunday’s broadcast on CBS.
Spero Dedes and Adam Archuleta were calling the game on the network.
Dedes said they had a chance to talk to Matt Canada at the hotel the Steelers were staying at on Saturday and the offensive coordinator had something interesting to say.
According to Dedes Canada said the Steelers are not built offensively to come back from big deficits and that the way they start games is critical.
Andrew Fillipponi said on The PM Team that tells you everything you need to know about Canada’s offense.
“You’re in year two of Kenny Pickett, he’s in year three as an offensive coordinator, they’ve drafted a running back in the first round, they don’t have a rookie quarterback or a 39-year-old quarterback anymore, they’ve upgraded their offensive line, they’ve got a third-year tight end, a second-year wide receiver who, one former Steelers said has more talent than Justin Jefferson. . . I could keep going here,” said Poni.
“The offensive coordinator has the audacity the night before the game to make an excuse about their limitations as an offense and heaven for bid they fall behind in a game, they’re not built to come back?” questioned Poni.
Chris Mueller says every offense in the NFL, at least the good ones, should be built to come back in 2023.
“It’s a quote from 1993,” said Muller.
