Steelers General Manager says that while this year’s quarterback class in the draft is smaller compared to other years, he believes there are capable NFL starters up for grabs.

“I believe it’s a quality class, there might not be the number of players at that position that there have been in the past but it’s certainly good quality,” Colbert said.
But that doesn’t mean the Steelers will be taking a QB.
Colbert also talked about current quarterbacks Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins.
Colbert says that Haskins gave the Steelers, “great looks in practice” and was “nice” on the scout team.
It also sounds like the Steelers aren’t giving up on Mason Rudolph just yet. Colbert told SiriusXM Radio that it’s hard to judge Rudolph after only 10 games.
Colbert says that most NFL quarterbacks start their careers worse than Rudolph’s 5-4-1 career record adding that Ben Roethlisberger was an outlier going 15-1 his rookie season.
Asked what direction he sees the Steelers going in at the QB position and if they’ll peruse San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, Colbert stuck to his usual response.
“We’ll never comment on any veteran or a college guys, kinda just cut off those kind of questions, all the individual questions will be kept in-house,” said Colbert.
