According to Colin Cowherd, Aaron Rodgers is “too smart” to be talking about Mike Tomlin and the City of Pittsburgh and not be planting seeds about a possible move to the Steelers in 2022.
Speaking on his Herd show Wednesday, Cowherd says he predicts the Steelers to lose a lot of games in 2021 going 5-12.

With every team in the AFC North equipped with their quarterback of the future, Joe Burrow in Cincinnati, Lamar Jackson in Baltimore and Baker Mayfield in Cleveland, Cowherd says the Steelers are, “staring at hole for years,” when it comes to the QB position.
Cowherd adds the Steelers can’t try and draft a first round college quarterback because there are too many questions in doing that.
“With that defensive and Mike Tomlin, you’re going to just roll the dice on a 50 percent hit rate college quarterback,” said Cowherd. “You do remember how many quarterbacks you moved through between Bradshaw and Big Ben, about 12.”
So what’s the solution?
“You don’t go college, you go get Aaron Rodgers, who unlike a college quarterback doesn’t have a 50 percent hit rate, he has a 100 percent hit rate,” said Cowherd.
“If Aaron Rodgers is going to casually throw it out there, Aaron Rodgers is way too smart to just throw it out there, he wants people to know he likes Tomlin . . . he’s not throwing it out there with Pete Carroll, they got a quarterback,” added Cowherd. “He’s throwing it out there with the one franchise with a great defense, great wide receiver talent, great ownership group, great GM, great scouting who just happen to have a quarterback who should be in a rocking chair.”
Cowherd adds that doesn’t mean it will happen, but Rodgers is certainly planting the seeds.
