Steelers player confirms Russell Wilson got first team reps in practice

Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin wouldn't tell reporters, but offensive lineman Dan Moore Jr. confirmed that Russell Wilson took first-team reps during practice on Wednesday.

"He's been out there the last few weeks," Moore said. "It's good getting him in, first-team reps."

This comes a day after Tomlin said that Wilson is under "consideration" to start his first game of the season Sunday night against the New York Jets at home.

Moore said they have to focus on themselves, control what they can control when it comes to who is in at quarterback, but there are obvious differences.

"We have to focus on our execution," Moore said. "I don't think it's going to change tremendously, obviously designed quarterback schemes and runs and stuff like that may change. For the most part, our job will be the same. Keep him clean and get the ground game going."

In video taken by Steelers beat reporters inside the team's South Side complex, including 93.7 The Fan's Jeff Hathhorn, Wilson and Justin Fields are seen going through numerous drills, first Wilson, then Fields.

Fields has started the first six games of the season for Pittsburgh, going 4-2.

The 25-year-old has 10 total touchdowns this season (5 passing, 5 rushing) and one interception.

Tomlin said they will keep their decision on the quarterback "in-house" but it sounds like Wilson has the edge going into the Jets week.
