PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers linebacker Alex Highsmith said Wednesday he didn't even know when he hurt his groin during Week Three, it's the trick with that injury. It seems like, barring a late setback, he will return to play against the Jets Sunday night.

Highsmith said right now it's not only a physical hurdle, but mental. It's about getting in these full-speed reps to test it and, so far, the injury has responded.

There are a lot of side-to-side movements playing outside linebacker. Highsmith said he's been working hard in practice with no issues during every drill. It's about progressing every day.

"I'm feeling good," Highsmith told 93.7 The Fan. "The optimism is very, very high. I had a great practice today.
Just got to keep feeling better, but I'm feeling really good about this week."

Highsmith was one of three who play outside linebacker who missed Sunday against the Raiders. Nick Herbig has already been ruled out for this Sunday.
