Dates for Steelers Training Camp at Heinz Field announced

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It's an odd year anyway for Steelers training camp and this one is no different as the team announced their schedule when you can watch practices this year. There is a major component involving COVID-19 as well.

You will need to reserve a free ticket via Ticketmaster starting Saturday at 10a and you must be fully vaccinated in order to attend.  They are also limiting the number of fans, but did not release what the limit will be.


The NFL prohibited the Steelers from going to Latrobe, so all viewing done at Heinz Field in 2021.  They also will start a little later than usual and only currently have five practices open to the public before the first game, August 8 in Canton.

Open practices held at starting at 1:30p for all public workouts except for the final day on August 18 (12p start). That's a change from the normal 2:55p start of practice in Latrobe.

First practice open to the public is Wednesday, July 28 and camp will close officially on Thursday, August 19.

Here is the schedule of times you can watch the team practice (again a 1:30p start unless otherwise noted)

·       Saturday, August 14

·      Tuesday, August 17—12:15p start

• Wednesday, August 18--Noon start

Again, it's free to watch practice, but attendees must have a mobile ticket to enter Heinz Field and must be vaccinated for COVID-19. A limited number of tickets will be available via Ticketmaster at 10a starting Saturday, July 10, and seats will be assigned on a first-come-first served basis.

Concession stands will be open at Heinz Field and parking information will be released at a later date.
