Brief Steelers quarterback sensation Devlin “Duck” Hodges who was recently released by the L.A. Rams worked out on Tuesday for the New England Patriots.

Hodges, along with nine other players worked out for the Patriots.

Hodges signed with the Steelers in 2019 and was on the practice squad but after Josh Dobbs was traded, Ben Roethlisberger went down with a season-ending elbow injury and Mason Rudolph was put on the shelf with an injury, Hodges took over.

He managed to finish 3-3 that season with five touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The Patriots do not currently have a quarterback to back up Mac Jones with Brian Hoyer and Garrett Gilbert currently on the practice squad.

That is very likely to chance before the Pats open up the season against the Miami Dolphins.

Pro Football Talk says that out of the 10 players trying out two were tight ends, one was a running back and another a receiver so, “Hodges may have been there simply to serve as the guy throwing the ball around during the tryout.”
