Our friend, former Steelers offensive lineman, Ramon Foster has his own morning show in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee and he’s been working for a while now to get Bud Dupree to the Titans.
Before you go and blame foster for Dupree leaving, don’t forget the cap hell the Steelers put themselves in and that there was no way they would be able to offer the kind of money “Big Bud” was going to get, even with a torn ACL.
After tearing his ACL, Dupree told the J-Mart and Ramon show on 104-5 The Zone he felt like he left the team down.
“The main thing I was really mad about is the run we were going on and me not being able to be on the field for my teammates, I was most mad about that man, I feel like I left a couple people out to dry I was down bad for like two days,” said Dupree.
Dupree was also worried his value in the free agency market would decline but he says his agent and Coach Mike Tomlin assured him everything would be okay on and off the field.
Dupree, speaking for the first time since signing with the Titans, says he’s ready to go to work and shared what he learned in Pittsburgh to make himself better.
“When I was on the Steelers man we did a great job of installing that physical mindset within each other not just from a personal standpoint but from a team stand point in general and Moan can vouch for that he’s know the mindset and the physicality of the game that we try to play with (in Pittsburgh) and so that plays a big role in my game,” said Dupree. “I’m not turning away from no physical battles no matter who it is on the field.”
Foster started #DupreeWatch on Twitter back toward the end of the season and Dupree said he didn’t want to be “disrespectful” to the Steelers but after the season Dupree started “liking” the #DupreeWatch tweets.
Dupree says Foster sent him a message the day before he signed with Tennessee and admits he still didn’t know because there were a few teams he was looking at.
