The second quarter score of Sunday’s game was Eagles 14, Steelers 3, which extended one insane stat for the Birds and illustrated one that Steelers fans would likely love to forget.

The former is that Philly has now outscored their opponents 126 to 30 in the second quarter of games this year, dominating the 15 minutes before halftime in way never seen before in the NFL.

The latter? Pittsburgh’s 10 first half points give them a total of 117 points on the season…nine less than their cross-state rivals have scored in the second quarter of games alone.

Yes, that’s right, the Birds have scored more points in a cherry-picked 105 minutes of action than the Steelers have in 450 minutes (plus part of one overtime) this season so far. To be fair to Pittsburgh at least, the Eagles only had 182 points this season through halftime, so they’ve scored 56 in their other 285 minutes including seven in the first quarter today…but still, not great for the Steelers.
