Fan dies after falling from escalator at Acrisure Stadium

UPDATE: Police have identified the victim of the fall. 27-year-old Dalton Ryan Keane of Monaca died at a local hospital.

A fan attending the Steelers game against the New York Jets on Sunday died after falling from an escalator, the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety announced.

The fall occurred after the game.

“Around 4:45 p.m. on October 2nd, Pittsburgh Police and EMS within Acrisure Stadium responded after an adult male fell from an escalator inside the stadium,” the blotter report said. “Paramedics administered care on scene and transported him in critical condition to a local hospital. He later passed from his injuries. The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process the scene, and VCU is heading the investigation.”

The Steelers released a statement saying they were aware of the incident.

"We are aware of an unfortunate incident that occurred inside Acrisure Stadium today," the Steelers’ statement said, via ESPN. "We are working with local authorities and helping their investigation into the matter. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the guest's family."

The man’s name and age have not been released.
