While he isn’t exactly sure how much he makes, Pro Football Network’s Mike Florio tells The PM Team he believes Mike Tomlin makes $10 million or more.
Talking about the possibility that Tomlin was considering leaving his coaching position a few years ago for television, Florio guessed that Tomlin makes $10-$15 million a year.
NBC Sports had Tomlin as the 8th highest-paid coach in NFL.
Florio says that he believes Tomlin is underpaid by the Steelers organization and that may have led to Bill Cowher wanting to leave back when he did in 2007.
“There’s that group of Steelers fans that gets up in arms anytime the Steelers struggle, I’m surprised they aren’t louder this year, maybe it’s because the quarterback situation drew the attention initially and then the offensive coordinator did,” said Florio.
In the past and still today, some fans believe Tomlin is the problem
After Andrew Fillipponi tweeted Florio’s guess on Tomlin’s salary, Steeler Nation responded with many believing Tomlin is overpaid even though Florio says he is underpaid.
