Former Steelers defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has been found guilty of animal cruelty.
Buggs was sentenced to a year of hard labor in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He was ordered to serve 60 days with the rest of the year being suspended for two years depending on Buggs’ behavior.
Buggs was arrested, charged with second-degree animal cruelty after two dogs were found malnourished on property he has been renting in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area in May.
He also ordered to not own dogs or cats, along with have or be around guns.
Buggs was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth-round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Alabama.
He spent three seasons in Pittsburgh, appearing in 29 games (starting in seven of them).
He then played the next two years with Detroit before being released on January 2 this past year.
He was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad two days later and was a member of the organization when they won the Super Bowl.
Buggs was also reportedly accused of pushing a police officer earlier this year.
In June, Buggs was arrested again, on domestic violence and burglary charges.
Buggs signed a reserve/future contract with Chiefs in the offseason.
