The Steelers may have lost running back Najee Harris but Jaylen Warren is coming back this season.
The Steeles announced on Tuesday afternoon that the RB has signed a one-year, restricted free agent tender.
Financials were not immediately available.
The undrafted 26-year-old has 1,674 yards over three years in Pittsburgh on 346 attempts with an average of 4.8 yards a carry.
He has six career touchdowns with a career long run of 74 yards.
He has 127 catches over that time for 894 yards, averaging 7 a catch.
Warren has also returned nine kickoffs, averaging 25.2 yards.
Head Coach Mike Tomlin was asked about Warren’s role going into the 2025 season, during a pre-draft news conference on Tuesday.
“I certainly feel comfortable with his ability to do so,” said Tomlin. “He got hampered by injury in 2024. He appears to be ready to answer that. I know he's really excited about his opportunity. I don't think that myself or anyone within the organization question his talents in regard to managing, the ability to manage, potentially that role.”
