Two things are fact.

1.      Jesse James caught that touchdown against New England.

2.      He’s been released by Detroit and is not available

On Thursday the Lions released the tight end. The move clears up $2.14 million worth of cap space for Detroit.

The sixth year McKeesport native played his first four seasons with the Steelers after being drafted in the 5th round in 2015 before signing a four-year $22.6 million deal with the Lions in 2019.

In 16 games with Detroit last year, James caught 14 balls for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

James is a durable TE. He played over 460 snaps with the Lions last season and if he is willing to come back to Pittsburgh on the cheap, he could prove his value again with a one-year deal and try to get more money when the cap jumps up next year.

James has 11 career touchdowns, 12 if you count the one against New England.
