Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals with a left ankle injury.

The second-year quarterback went down in the second quarter after taking a hit trying to pick up an extra yard on a rush inside the red zone. He was attended to on the field by trainers and managed to get up on his own but limped off the field and went straight toward the blue medical tent.

After being evaluated in the tent he then left for the locker room and was ultimately ruled out of the game.

Mitchell Trubisky replaced Pickett at quarterback.

The Steelers’ second-year quarterback has been underwhelming this season despite leading the team to a 7-4 record prior to Sunday’s game. Pickett entered the game with 2,000 passing yards with just six touchdowns to four interceptions. He does have a strong 61.8% completion percentage.
