Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said recently that he hasn’t been to a grocery store in 10 years. What?!
Do you believe him?
The Fan Morning Show talked about the issue on Tuesday.
“I live in a bubble anyway to be honest with you, I haven’t been to the grocery store in 10 years,” said Tomlin.
Colin Dunlap asked if Tomlin is just using hyperbole or has he really not walked into a store in 10 years.
Dunlap and Chris Mack both believe him when he says he hasn’t been to a grocery store in a decade but that it’s not because he’s too busy with football, it’s because he doesn’t want to get haggled at the deli counter.
“I don’t believe it’s because he doesn’t have time, I believe it’s because he doesn’t want to get haggled there,” said Dunlap. “And he’s saying it in terms of ‘you know what I don’t have time, I’m a football lifer’ meanwhile, what he doesn’t want is ‘Hey, you know my cousin? He sits in section 534 Mike He seent you one time aht.’”
Mack says it’s probably a combination of both not having time and not wanting to be hassled by Steelers Nation.
“He’s singularly obsessed with coaching football,” said Mack. “Nobody in his family is coming to him and saying ‘dad or Mike hey um we need a couple things at the store can you pick them up on your way home?’”
