PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The Pittsburgh Steelers will be stuck with multiple difficult tasks this offseason, one of which is finding a replacement for their Hall of Fame quarterback who officially retired from the NFL on Thursday.

Ever since Ben Roethlisberger announced his retirement, and well before then, a big topic of discussion for Steelers' fans has been who will be the teams next starting quarterback?

Will the name come from within the team like Mason Rudolph or Dwayne Haskins? Maybe a draft pick like Kenny Pickett or Matt Corral? Or could it be a trade/free agent signing like Aaron Rodgers?

Former Steelers wide receiver joined the PM Team on 93.7 the Fan to discuss the legacy of Roethlisberger, but said Rodgers would be a great replacement.

"I would never pass on Aaron Rodgers," Wallace said.

Wallace has experience playing against Rodgers when the Steelers and Green Bay Packers met in Super Bowl XLV.

Rodgers walked away as the winner in that game and proved himself to be a winner.

Wallace says that the Steelers are a team that doesn't need to rebuild and can win with the players they have.

Adding a veteran quarterback who has a hunger to win again, could be exactly what the team needs.

"Rodgers is going to come to play," Wallace said. "He's going to do his job… I feel like he's definitely a guy who can put the team over the top."

Wallace went on to mention that Rodgers and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin are already on good terms and not too many guys around the league have bad things to say about Tomlin.

As a wide receiver himself, Wallace was also asked about the Steelers current group of receivers.

He noted that the group is young but has great potential, someone has to step up an be a leader.

"Diontae [Johnson] and [Chase] Claypool can be number ones… somebody has to take the lead."

With the uncertainty surrounding JuJu Smith-Schuster in Pittsburgh, Wallace zeroed in on Johnson becoming the leader of the group.

"Diontae is going into that role… He's at that age now."

Can Steeler fans get behind a pairing like that?

Rodgers throwing deep balls to Johnson sounds like a whole new era of Steeler football.
