PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – I don't say this with some super-secret information, I say this because of the implications for the NFL and NBC. The Steelers will play against Baltimore Thursday night even with the COVID-19 positives on the Ravens.
As of right now there are two Ravens players who have tested positive according to the NFL Network, both are tailbacks (Mark Ingram and JK Dobbins), both would hurt the Ravens chances of winning. However, the Steelers and other teams have continued forward with multiple players out due to coronavirus.
This is why they have bigger rosters and COVID-19 lists, so games aren't missed. And this is THE game for Thanksgiving. The best rivalry in the NFL with a couple of great storylines of the undefeated team against the struggling, defending division champ with the MVP of the league.
What more would TV want.
Plus, you can't go to just another game, there is no back-up plan and NBC surely doesn't want to trot out reruns on Thanksgiving night.
In a year where revenue is down, would the NFL want to miss a chance to show case their game on a holiday, with no other sports or games to watch?
Barring an outbreak of many more players testing positive or having to quarantine, keep your Thanksgiving plans. The Steelers and Ravens will play Thursday night.
