Speculation over the future of Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers entered a new phase on Friday night, when it was reported the reigning NFL MVP has identified his preferred destinations for a potential trade out of Green Bay.

Not only has Rodgers determined he wants to play for either the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans or Denver Broncos, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, but the Packers apparently already have deals in place with each of those teams if and when Rodgers gives the green light.
The reported development comes following weeks -- and indeed more like two years -- of rumors that Rodgers could be plotting his exit after the team's crushing playoff defeat in the NFC Divisional round at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.
The speculation first kicked off in April 2020, when the Packers pulled a minor stunner by drafting quarterback Jordan Love in the first round, apparently without Rodgers' knowledge or consent.
The surprising move seemed to fuel Rodgers' discontent but also an on-field resurgence, spurring him on to claim the third and fourth MVP Awards of his career at age 36 and 37. The former California Golden Bears standout turned 38 in December.
Rodgers' relationship with the Packers seemed to remain uneasy despite his brilliant play the last two seasons, and he briefly held out of Packers training camp before eventually reporting with a sweetened contract.
In February, Rodgers teased a potential announcement about his future plans in a cryptic social media post that read something like a farewell, before later indicating he would be taking a few weeks to sort out his thoughts.
