Talking to the media ahead of the Reese’s Senior Bowl this Saturday, Pickett was asked about the possibility being drafted by the Steelers.

“The possibility of being drafted there would be really unbelievable, Pittsburgh’s really my second home so that would be kind of a dream,” said Pickett.

The Heisman finalist also talked about the good relationship he has with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and what he’s learned sharing a facility with the NFL organization.

“See how they go about their business, how they work, go through their walk-throughs, how professional they are so as a young kid coming in to Pitt, freshman, sophomores can see how things are supposed to be done,” said Pickett.

Pickett also discussed Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement and his impact on the game.

Pickett and Roethlisberger both had Mark Whipple as their quarterbacks coach, with Whipple also serving as offensive coordinator for three seasons.

Before Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada was in the NFL, he was Pitt’s offensive coordinator in 2016 and helped recruit Pickett to the Panthers.

“Ben’s a Hall of Famer, had an unbelievable career, he was coached by Coach Whipple is pretty cool to be coached by Coach Whip who had Ben and then I got to learn from him so a lot of the things he taught Ben he was teaching me in these past three seasons at Pitt,” said Pickett.

Both Tomlin and retiring General Manager Kevin Colbert are in Mobile, Alabama for the Senior Bowl.
