Pickett looking impressive with Freiermuth in pre-camp workout

Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett is putting in the work before training camp starting later this month.

The former Pitt quarterback has been working with his personal QB coach Tony Racioppi.

Racioppi posted a video of Pickett working with second-year tight end Pat Freiermuth on Thursday.

According to Racioppi, Pickett was "working Gun 3 play then reset with shoulder tilt to TE Pat Freiermuth running Dover Route catching Depth/Angle/Speed to judge tempo/trajectory."

Pickett has been working since minicamp ended. He's been working with Racioppi and also said before leaving Pittsburgh he was going to work out with Mitch Trubisky at his home in Florida.

Trubisky ran first team during OTAs and minicamp, Pickett ran third, with Mason Rudolph running second team.

Racioppi told Cook & Joe a couple weeks ago that he's been working with Pickett for six years and that he won't disappoint in the NFL.

"He'll be ready to get better every single day and whenever his number's called, he'll be ready I promise you that," said Racioppi.

Racioppi also confirmed the comparisons that Pickett has been getting by experts to Joe Burrow.

"I just think the way they both throw it, they're both better athletes than people think, they're both accurate, they both process information so well, they're both ultra-competitive dudes, they're both quick processors," said Racioppi.

With Pickett working one-on-one with Freiermuth, maybe that Pitt/Penn State rivalry is softening?  Nah…
